Six years ago, Roy Choi launched the food truck revolution with his wildly popular Kogi truck and famous Korean tacos. Now, he celebrates the launch of his debut cookbook, “L.A. Son.” Part memoir, part cookbook, Choi shares more than 85 dishes that meld together the traditions and flavors of the city to which it pays homage: Los Angeles. Expect recipes for Korean Fried Chicken, Carne Asada, homemade chorizo, kimchi and more. But it’s Choi’s stories and deep-rooted perspective on the culinary stylings found in the L.A. neighborhoods most tourists never see that bring this charming cookbook to life.

"My Usual Table," by Colman Andrews, founding editor of Saveur, is a love letter to the great restaurants that have changed the way we eat. Andrews shares his table at the culinary hot spots that have influenced food trends at home and abroad. The growth of Nouvelle Cuisine and fusion cuisine, the organic and locavore movements, molecular gastronomy—Andrews has seen it all from the start and tells the behind-the-scenes stories.
